Our Mission

As many students involved in the admission process are aware, or soon learn, there is more to getting accepted into the very selective colleges than high grades and test scores. Students really need to passionately pursue activities that show their individuality; they also need to attain recommendations and write essays that make them come alive to the admissions office. Not an easy task for even the most seasoned PhD, let alone a senior in high school.

Ivy College Prep, LLC offers a full range of services, from tutoring and test preparation to college counseling and planning, to ensure your student comes off the page, to the admissions office, as a qualified, fully capable, three-dimensional applicant. Just as the college admissions process changes (as it is with the University of California system for the fall of 2012) so do we.

We know that on-line interviewing is becoming more important. We prepare our students accordingly. We bring years of experience and down to earth, realistic approaches to make your college planning and counseling experience the most useful and productive effort possible. We look forward to assisting in making your student’s application effort a success, and very possibly, an enjoyable experience.

We assist our students in all aspects of the college application process: building solid transcripts, preparing for standardized tests, participating passionately in extracurricular activities, and building bonds with teachers and high school counselors, who will eventually recommend them. We have helped scores of students attain acceptances into a range of colleges from Harvard to UC San Diego.

Master Instructors and Counselors

Our master instructors know their subject matter thoroughly. Our master writing instructor, over the last eight years, has helped students on anchor essays, SAT prompts, and thesis papers of all sorts. Our two master counselors, between them, have over 20 years experience editing applications and connecting students to their best college matches.

Individualized Curriculum

We tailor our curriculum to the individual needs of our students. Over the years we have created our own copyrighted vocabulary program, along with scores of essay prompts to provide the most effective tools for our students.
