Ivy College Prep comprehensively addresses all parts of the ACT.
- There are specific homework assignments for each class. All homework is thoroughly reviewed and critiqued by the instructor.
- The student first takes a diagnostic test to assess strengths and areas requiring attention. Then a customized study plan is designed for the student. The plan serves as a central focus for the student, the instructor and the director.
- The course uses actual ACT tests throughout. There is also an online component for use between classes to build necessary skills.

ACT Reading Test
- This portion of the test covers a range of subject areas, from Social Studies and Natural Sciences to Prose Fiction and Humanities
- Similar to the SAT it contains both explicit and implicit questions about the material, understanding an author’s voice and method, and understanding vocabulary in context.
ACT Science Test
- This includes scientific material containing references to: tables, graphs, figures and research. It also contains questions involving conflicting data, differing premises and incomplete data.
ACT Writing Test
- This is now an optional section on the ACT. All the essay development skills used in Ivy College Prep’s SAT Essay course are geared towards the specific rigors of the ACT.
